The minimum size for PV landing areas is 5m x 5m behind the box and extension segments forward along the sides of the box of 2.0m.from the back of it. If possible it is desirable to work to a larger size and with better protection of stands and the surrounds.For IAAF meetins the minimum size is 6m wide and 7m long. The area must be contoured to accept the bend of poles.We have been at the forefront of landing area development since 1966 and with Dr Alan Neuff as a senior PV coach we will not supply anything that he would not be happy with his own coaching group landing on! Landing areas are composed of basic units constructed of high quality polyether foam of three densities. The covers are zip in heavy duty flame retardant PVC reinforced fabric and linked by 50mm webbing straps. The wear sheet is of polyether foam sandwiched between spike proof mesh and PVC fabric and is fastened to the base units by D rings and clips to allow for compression of the unit in use. The rain sheet is in heavy duty PVC fabric with side walls.

Landing area, covers and wear sheets can be repaired. The cost will depend upon what is necessary but a guide price for replacement is approx £650.00 for a replacement waterproof cover and £1900.00 for a new wear sheet.
Landing areas are made to order so cannot be delivered the next day or even next week. Delivery times will vary according to the time of year but 6 weeks is typical.
The change of IAAF rules regarding base movement has enabled the ground fixing to be redesigned. Now all the stands will have the same base are interchangeable and can be fitted with foam protection unit to base(see below). Thus it is very simple to have say, Club uprights for training and International ones for competition.
