Landing Areas

  The minimum size for HJ landing areas is 5m x 3m x 0.5m for adult events.  However for events involving younger and lighter athletes a smaller area may be used.  Landing areas are constructed with base units built from high quality polyether foam of three densities.  The heavy duty PVC reinforced fabric used to cover the units is flame retardant and 50mm webbing straps link the units together.  The base units are covered by a spike resistant wear sheet which serves two purposes.  One is to prevent injury caused by limbs slipping between the units and the second is to protect the covers as well as giving a softer landing to the athletic. Wear sheets are constructed by sandwiching polyether foam between PVC fabric and a spike resistant mesh.  The wear sheet is fastened to the bases by D rings and clips.

Landing areas are fabricated to order and are not available on a next day basis, (not even next week!). Usual delivery times are 6 weeks but this will depend upon the work load in the manufacturing unit.
